“The Capture of Father Time”: Why is this story called a “humorous yarn”? Why do you think it’s considered a fairy tale? Have you ever read anything else by L. Frank Baum? Do you enjoy his work? Why or why not?  

This story is a humorous yarn because as the story continues to unravel you see more and more of the humor Jim is creating because he was able to stop Father Time. In a way he had control of time and was mischievous as time stood still. This would be considered a fairy tale because it is a completely fictional story and is an impossible situation. We can not control time. I’ve never read anything else by L. Frank Baum that I am aware of. I enjoyed this story because it was comical.
